The original purpose of the ProfilePicks.com Profile Picks Gift Vendor was to be a tool to assist you in optizimizing your shop for search. Unfortunately, for the reasons described in the blogs below, LL has decided to remove picks data from the search relevancy algorithm.

When the new search was released earlier this week, they also changed how picks are displayed on a residents page - which caused the script to fail. However I was able to adjust the script on the server to get it working again.

So where does that leave us?

Well the scripts are still working, and can still verify an active pick of account verified residents. Although the pick no longer has relevancy in search, there may still be benefit derived from obtaining picks from dedicated customers as a word of mouth marketing tool.

I am hoping to rebrand the tools as such - and provide my customers with more web-based tools for promoting their shop with profile picks.

- Auto Parcel Detection

Web Release:
- Promo Image Upload to accompany web listing
- Most Recently updated to top of list. Updates qualify if the item is *new*.
- Promotion via Blogs and Plurk

If in the end the costs outweight the benefits then I may choose to shut down the website. I will however keep the website up and running for the remainder of the 2010. Check back for updates.
